About this activity
Pillowcase Relay Race uses clean pillowcases as safe indoor ‘sacks’. Mark start and finish lines with tape, hop in short bursts, and swap at the halfway mark for sibling teams. After-school energy burner that needs almost no kit and works for school-holiday parties when outdoor space is limited.

How to play
- 1Tape a start line and a finish line about three to five metres apart on a clear floor.
- 2Each child steps both feet into a pillowcase and holds the top edges at waist height.
- 3On ‘go’, hop to the finish, tag the wall, then hop back — no running outside the case.
- 4For teams, use a halfway tape mark and swap pillowcases with a partner for a relay.
- 5Cool down with three slow hops each, then fold pillowcases and put them away.
